Had a chance to listen to seth godin speak on customer service. Here he argues that a resume is useless, in that if you believe that you possess remarkable talent and that you deserve a remarkable job, a resume will not work. The thought is all great jobs do not require a resume.
I don’t disagree that “Great jobs, world class jobs, jobs people kill for… those jobs don’t get filled by people emailing in resumes. Ever.” this may be true for some people at certain points in their careers. But I will bet that before these world class people held their world class jobs they had to start somewhere, maybe it was with their first job. And I bet they had to apply with their resume.
